Historical notes on Schloss Eicherhof
The baroque country estate of Schloss Eicherhof (Castle Eicherhof) was built in 1762/1763 by "Lord von Hack", Jakob Wilhelm Behagel, nephew and heir to the Cologne financier Wilhelm Hack. The two-storey manor with its two parallel additions was built in the French style popular in the 18th century. The "maison de plaisance" (house of pleasure) served "Lord von Hack" as a visible sign of his dignity and standing.
The builder of Schloss Eicherhof is not known.
